Expectations Before Pre-Season
What are expectations? Where do they come from? What is truly EXPECTED from this Birmingham Legion squad? Playoffs? Championships?

Juan Agudelo is Back and I’m Tactically Intrigued
Now that Juan Agudelo has officially returned to the 3 Sparks, what does that mean for the tactics? Frankly, your guess is as good as mine. But this is my best guess!

Who is in Birmingham Legion FC’s All-Time Best XI?
This is a super young team, in the grand scheme of things. Being around since 2019, there aren’t a lot of players to really choose from, but it didn’t stop me from making a controversial choice.

Welcome to the Dixie Cup: Alabama’s Greatest Tournament
Let’s get weird. It’s off-season time and let’s dream about some fictional friendlies. But in this fictional world, the State of Alabama is putting on the greatest tournament in soccer history. Move over FA Cup, The Dixie Cup has arrived.

The Magic of Football With a Holiday Twist
In a holiday season filled with stress, fear, and depression, Birmingham Legion FC allowed the 205 little bit of relief and lifetime memories that didn’t cost a penny.

College Soccer is the Secret in Growing the Beautiful Game
In a time where the US is looking to grow the game, the answer was right in front of us. It isn’t promotion/relegation. It isn’t some new league. It’s the schools we have supported since birth.

Decision Day: Playoffs Are Coming Home
In a Must Win Match, the 3 Sparks Didn’t Win. They Dominated. You can talk tactics in this match all day long. I can talk about how the team completely dismantled a team who has been a bit of a Boogieman for us in the past. I can talk about how the system last night…

Home Playoffs or Failure
There Can Be Success in the Playoffs, but There Will Not Be Growth This article is partially about the 2-1 loss to the Oakland Roots, but it is more about how this team needs to win out. This team cannot drop a single point. Our home playoff birth has been helped by winning and results…

No Post Match Reactions ARTICLE This Week
So Sorry About the Inconvenience Hello! So, no full post match reactions article for Pittsburgh this week. I am in the middle of my edTPA writing and I cannot force myself to write anymore. Admittedly, I am a very poor academic writer, so a 9 page, single-spaced paper is really destroying my willingness to write…

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA: Legion Lose to IXI 4-3
A 30′ Disasterclass leads to one of the best 60′ minutes this team has played all year long, but it means absolutely nothing. No Press, No Points, Must Win.

Legion Drain the Red Bulls 3-1
The Team Chemistry is Off the Chart Despite going down early in the second straight match, the boys come out and completely dominate the Baby Bulls of New Jersey. The one thing that stood out to me? The team chemistry is insane. On the pitch, you can hear how much the boys are talking and…

Legion Lose 2-1 to Detroit City FC
If It Ain’t Broke, Over-Tinker With It I understand rotation is needed. The team is exhausted. After going fully attacking on Saturday for an amazing win against San Diego Loyal, Legion overthought it. We only had two out-and-out strikers in the 18, and they were on the bench. One is Juan Agudelo getting a much…
