New Shows Are Coming, and I Need YOUR Help
I want to start off with that Hammering Down is here to stay. The solo show will stay. Interviews are not going anywhere. That said, there are some changes as I am looking to the future of both myself and the show. First off…
The Changes
I AM LOOKING TO START TWO NEW SHOWS TO CREATE HAMMERING DOWN MEDIA.
These shows will consist of UNDERREPRESENTED PEOPLE IN SOCCER and THE FAN’S SHOW. That would make three consistent uploads.
The idea is this: I am looking to create more of a pulse on this city. I only know so much and can only change the prospective of myself so much. As a straight, white guy, I don’t understand what it is like to come to a match as somebody of color, non-straight, non-male, or even as a “normal” fan anymore. I have relationships with people on “both sides” of the pitch, and it is hard to completely separate the two thoughts.
I NEED YOUR HELP:
IF YOU KNOW SOMEBODY WHO WOULD LIKE TO BE A PART OF THIS SHOW, PLEASE REACH OUT. YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW A LOT ABOUT PODCASTING, SOCCER, OR ANYTHING REALLY. ALL NEEDED IS THE WILLINGNESS TO SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCES AND YOUR THOUGHTS.
Why The Change?
My time in Birmingham may be coming to an end. As my beautiful fiancé has moved to North Carolina to go to her job as I finish my degree, the possibility of me moving away from this wonderful city grows larger. Because of that, I will lose a bit of that heartbeat of the city. The heartbeat of the fanbases will be lost by distance. I will still support FC Birmingham, Legion FC, Birmingham Futsal, and every other group around, but it will be different.
These new shows are being created to keep that heartbeat alive. I will still react to the matches, react to the tactics, interview players, the whole 9 yards, but I do not want to lose that heartbeat.
Added to that, I want the voices of fans, EVERY fan, to be shared. The experiences of different backgrounds in our city and our state deserve to be shared. These are voices that clubs need to hear, and luckily, I have a platform to share them. I will not be a constant voice on these shows. I doubt I will ever feature on these shows. That’s exactly how I want it to be. Their voices. Their stories. I just want to be able to share it.
Where Can You Reach Me?
You can find my email in the Contact section, or just my email kaylorhodges@outlook.com. And PLEASE SHARE THIS POST AROUND. I do not care your background. I want to hear from you let’s start something special. Let’s make Hammering Down Media the thing I have always dreamed it would be: The documentation of Football in the Magic City.
