About Hammering Down
Hammering Down is a podcast and website based on soccer in Birmingham, Alabama. The show was created by Kaylor Hodges. The show is meant to shed light on soccer in Birmingham.
At the time of creation, Hammering Down was the only podcast dedicated to soccer in Alabama, specifically Birmingham. The show started as one guy talking into a mic, growing into getting exclusive interviews with Legion FC players and Front Office members, like President Jay Heaps.
Hammering Down’s growth has given Kaylor the opportunity to interview international stars like Chris Richards of Crystal Palace, Nealy Martin of Racing Louisville, and local personalities like Jim Dunaway and Scott Register.
Since December of 2020, Hammering Down has continued to grow every single day, becoming one of the biggest, and fastest growing podcasts in US Soccer.
Every show is another chance to improve the product and Kaylor is always open to hearing about new ideas to bring to Hammering Down!
About the Creator
Kaylor Hodges
Kaylor Hodges is a music education student at The University of Alabama. Hailing from Jasper, Alabama, Kaylor’s passion has always been in sports analysis/reporting and music.
As a musician, Kaylor has performed in venues across the United States as a member of The Million Dollar Band and as a horn player with his Quartet, Sixth Avenue. Playing and teaching the French Horn are two of Kaylor’s greatest passions outside of Hammering Down, which is why he decided to attend The University of Alabama to study under the world renown horn player and teacher, Charles ‘Skip’ Snead.
While music education is what Kaylor’s focus is in, his dream is to settle down with his beautiful fiancé and focus on sports reporting and podcasting, specifically in the Birmingham Area. While Kaylor’s main focus is on Birmingham Legion FC, his main goal is to grow the brand that is Soccer in Birmingham, Alabama!
